Technique: Low Impact

Coordination, precision and fluidity.

Break down the steps taught in choreography class in detail. Fine tune your coordination, precision  and fluidity of movement.

Increase your overall strength and flexibility with time devoted to muscle conditioning and yoga in addition to belly dance technique.

Expression, confidence and style.

Find your personal style and work on confidently executing your expressions.

Move your body, get your heart rate up, dance to the music with grace and personality. New choreography every six weeks.

Specialty Choreography: Props

Deepen your dance in props class.

One session per season, this fall's specialty choreography is a cheeky saidi-inspired dance done with a cane. Heavy on rhythm, earthy movements, this folk style is lots of fun!

Don't live in the city? Want a class that better fits your schedule? Get your friends together and I'll come to you: Learn technique, flexibility, and a beginner-friendly choreography from the comfort of your home. $25/h, minimum 3 ppl, travel fee per km applied.

What should I wear to class?

Comfortable fitness wear that is fitted to the body. It helps to be able to see your hips in the mirror!

What footwear is appropriate for belly dance class?

Bare feet, socks, dance slippers and indoor fitness sneakers are all good options.

I've never taken a dance class before - is this for me?

Belly dance is fun and challenging - I'm here to teach you new ways to move and be in your body. Let yourself be vulnerable with me - I promise it's worth it!!

How do I find the studio?

House of Eights is at the corner of Bell Road and Sackville Street, across from Garrison grounds. There is a paid parking lot across the street open to the public.

Is there anything I need to bring with me?

Wear comfortable fitness wear. It helps to be able to see your hips in the mirror! I provide practice belts to wear in class.

What are your background and credentials?

Registered Nurse in women's health since 2012, studying and performing belly dance since 2011, reiki master and working towards 200hr YTT
